WMDA Meetings of the Working Groups and Committees
WMDA members meet on a regular basis. The meetings are a combination of workshops (where guidelines are developed) and training (where guidelines are put into practice).
The meetings take place twice a year
- The Fall Meeting usually in conjunction with the NMDP Council Meeting. The day is organized by the WMDA Education Committee and offers an excellent learning opportunity.
- The Spring Meeting in the uneven years in conjunction with the EBMT meeting and in the even years in conjunction with the International Donor Registry Conference. During the Spring Meeting the WMDA Working Group share information about their projects they have worked on.
International Donor Registry Conference
The International Donor Registry Conference has been hosted worldwide by individual registries since 1998. The Conference has grown to a biennial scientific and educational congress. Each time the Conference is held in a different country and the number of participants has been increasing steadily. The International Donor Registry Conference has become one of the most important meetings for stem cell donor registries and cord blood banks. It attracts a growing number of participants from European and non European countries and provides an excellent forum for presentations of the latest results in hematopoietic stem cell transplantation.
The 2014 International Donor Registry Conference will take place in London, United Kingdom (May 14-17, 2014).
